I really enjoyed this book and I know you will too.

I really loved the message of this book: trusting God. This is something we all need to work on, and I love the way these authors weaved the storyline and portrayed their characters. Excellent job! The storyline was believable and easy-to-follow, while not being boring in any way. The feelings and dialogue of the characters were also very well done.

Love Finds You In Lonesome Prairie, Montana by Tricia Goyerand Ocieanna Fleiss is a lively "wild west" romance story.
Amy at The 160 Acre Woods
Being a prairie girl myself it was easy to get lost in the past of this story! I deem this book an inviting and delicious morsel for all my history romance loving friends! It’s a fresh take on western romances! I gobbled it up in a few hours; it was that delicious!

I have read a few of these Love Finds you series and every single one of them has been really good! I actually went out to buy some of them because I have enjoyed them so much. This book was no exception. It is funny, one mishap after another in some ways, but also puts some great history about that part of MT in there.

Blown away! Another hit from Tricia Goyer and another co-author, Ocieanne Fleiss. I read this book in a record time - two days - again an amazing feat and couldn't put it down. Harkening back to the days of the orphan trains and mail order brides, the reader is taken from the streets of New York City and a orphanage to the streets of the untamed West - Lonesome Prarie. If you're a history buff like I am, there is plenty of that in this book as well. This is yet another book that I would not be afraid to let my daughters read when they get older, nothing in this book to be ashamed or red-cheeked about. A romance with just enough history thrown in to make a good read while not having to worry about what Jesus would think if He caught you reading it (except to say He may think I could have washed the dishes!)!

A wonderful simple love story with true romance. Old west scenery and life made very real, it made you feel like you were there. I enjoyed this book and recommend reading to all. Great story line with a wonderful message about God and how we should trust him.

I really enjoyed this book. A part of the 'Love Finds You' series, Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana is definitely worth the read. This book has a great cast of characters that really grow on you and a realistic view of the western life (not what you read in them there books!).
Stacey at Word Up
Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss combine their writing talents beautifully in their collaborative effort, “Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana”. This touching story of an orphan who found her life’s purpose in caring for others like herself by working in a New York orphanage is a triumph. I love fiction books that teach me something. And this one certainly did. This novel dispels myths of the West being a bustling metropolis constantly active with gunfights, stampedes and other attractions. The friendships that develop and the love that grows in this book are absolutely lifelike. Although the back cover calls this novel fiction, I am thoroughly convinced that this story had to be factual for someone because this town, its characters and the many life lessons contained within the pages of this beautiful, gripping novel breathe so deeply.
Lisa at Remnant Reminscences
I really enjoyed reading about Julia’s journey as she lovingly cared for the orphaned girls and helped them find a caring home. She remained faithful and courageous as she faced a bleak and unknown future. And she always relied on God and trusted Him to work everything out for the good.
Shelly at Attic Girl
This not only tells a good love story, but also sheds light on what it was like to be a woman in the west from a Christian's perspective. It reminded me of the Love Comes Softly series by Jeanette Oke. If you love history and enjoy reading stories about the west, you will enjoy this book!
Kim at Window to My World
Lonesome Prairie Montana is a place that will hold a tender place in your heart, and if you love a tender romance with a precious spiritual truth woven within its pages, then Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie Montana is the book for you!
Crystal at My Reading Room
This is a wonderful inspirational historical romance. I have not read any others in the Love Finds You In series, but I want to read more of them after reading this. I will also seek out more books by these authors. Ms. Goyer and Ms. Fleiss did a wonderful job writing this book, from the well-constructed romance to the beautiful imagery of the scenery of Montana. It's all brought to life well in this book.

Oh my goodness did I enjoy this book! The book was flat out fun...silly and fun! This is a great historical christian romance, with a lot of humor thrown in to make it entertaining. This story is mishaps from beginning to end and will have you chuckling the entire way through it. Another hit by Goyer!
Carly at Carlybird's Home
This book was truly a pleasure to read from start to finish. The authors have done a wonderful job transporting the reader to the prairie of Montana in 1889. I so enjoyed the characters and the charm of this small and welcoming community.

The Love Finds You series is a throwback to Christian romances of old; nearly everyone is good at heart, and every town is one where the reader would love to relocate. In other volumes in the series, the writing has suffered and been a bit hackneyed, but Goyer and Fleiss make the Old West come to life with their beautiful and stark descriptions of the land and the solitude it creates. The dialogue between Julia and Isaac sparks and zings in a fresh and thoroughly enjoyable manner. The story has some depth with its depiction of prejudice against Native Americans, but its real strength is the likable characters and sweet romance.

I’ve really been enjoying this read. If you are into deep, heart wrenching stories filled with action and adventure, and lets not forget romance…this book is for you!
Jane at Winning Readings
This is a nice happy-ending book of the historical Western romance genre. Julia's heartbreak of saying goodbye to "her" girls and her longing for a family of her own is touching. And Isaac's realization that God's always-perfect plans may differ from our own, as well as his godly dedicaton to his parish, is a story we all can learn from. Overall, an easy-reading uplifting book.
Pamela at Day Song Reflections
Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie Montana is a curl up by the fire story for those times when you would just like to relax. A historical novel, it takes the reader back to the days of orphan trains and wide open prairies where friends and neighbors are few and far between.
Stephanie at The Creative Side of Me
Even though some of the characters weren't as complex as some books, I thought that Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie by Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss was a good, rainy day read. I enjoy having "simpler" books to pick up when I want to cozy up with a good read, but don't want to get too involved in thinking through an intricate plot.

Historical Fiction being my favorite genre, this book didn’t disappoint. I love books that are well written and allow you to experience the emotions of the characters and this is one such book.
Angela at Pantyless Preachers Wife
Tricia’s love of God, romance, and faith show in Love Finds You In Lonesome Prairie Montana. Taking a young girl from New York City, and placing her in old west Montana gives for tons of mishaps, example, the snake falling out of the “roof” onto her head during a storm. The story of Julia is a great read, it sucks you in from the first paragraph and keeps you there till the last syllable.
Janna at Corn Husk Academy
This is a good classic historical western and adds a great title to the Love Finds You In... line of books. If you haven't read any yet, this is a great place to start.
Amy at Girlfriends Get Real
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of listening to author Tricia Goyer on MomTV's show Madre Minutes. She shared her story. I had not started this book co-authored by her at the time. After listening to her I couldn't wait to get it started. She has an amazing story. She shares it in another book written by her titled Blue Like Playdough. Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie is a historical novel set in Montana. It reminded me of Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly Series. It was a heart-warming story that kept me interested until the end.
Tamara at Tamara Tilley
LOVE FINDS YOU IN LONESOME PRAIRIE MONTANA, is a simple story of love, family, sacrifice, and devotion. It's a quiet story in that there are no rustlers, shootouts, or high drama at every turn. Though the outcome of Mabelina's trial brings some suspense, the rest of the story seems to unfold at a carefree pace. I am not a fan of love story's that keep the hero and heroine apart for the majority of the story. True, absences makes the heart grow fonder, but I would prefer to see these characters discover and develop a relationship with each other in something other than their thoughts and dreams.
Pam at Hip 2 B Homeschooling
The authors did a good job of capturing the isolation these people experienced and the lawlessness of the times. Julia's romance with Isaac is nicely developed. The subplot concerning the evil Warren adds a touch of adventure. If you enjoy this genre, you will find Love Finds You in the Lonesome Prairie a fun read.

I am a huge fan of historical romance and even better when it is Christian based, which is all I read. This book was no exception. What I liked most about the book was how the characters came to life. You really got to know each one of them, even the ones you could strangle, hee...

Julia and Isaac were both wonderfully developed characters and I fell in love with both of them. There are also a host of other characters that were fun, quirky, and nice to get to know. Have you ever heard of the term "chocolate read?" It describes a book that you read just as a treat. A guilty little pleasure. You don't read it out of obligation or for its "nutritional value" but just because sometimes it is just right for the moment. I adore books that make me ponder life and question my ideals but every once in a while I crave a simple love story with a guaranteed happy ending. In Lonesome Prairie, Montana I found my love story, though it wasn't always so simple; and I got a reminder of some of the deeper spiritual lessons that I have learned along the way. That's like organic chocolate.

The characters created by Goyer and Fleiss seemed to jump off the page. This book is a fun, easy read - perfect for when you are tired of living in this century - and want to "step" back into a world without cell phones, iPods, laptops or texting. It might even make you realize what is most important - relationships with family and friends, along with a faith in God.

As Ocieanna and Tricia were writing and finishing this book, they gave me the privilege of helping edit/critique the manuscript. Because of that, I won't be posting a review. But I will say readers' response has been very positive. I'm thrilled to highlight my friend's first novel. And check out Annette's interview with Ocieanna here.

Reminiscent of the early Jeanette Oke historical novels, Lonesome Prairie is a sweet story. The conflicts are simple rather than life and death. But all in all, it’s an enjoyable and entertaining read.

An exciting story, with a wonderful story of redemption and love. The collaboration of Tricia and Ocieanna is truly the results of a wonderful book.

This book is wonderful! Co-authors Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss have produced a story that goes straight to the heart. The characters are well-developed, and we are led to feel with Julia as she faces leaving the girls she has come to love. We also feel with her in her personal plight. This is a 'must-have' to add to the collection of anyone who loves historical fiction set in the prairies.
Christy at At Split Ends
This was an enjoyable story I looked forward to coming back to every day. I found myself wanting to hurry through the subplots trying to get to the ending to find out what happens. But there was plenty of entertainment in those subplots as well, with each character shining on their own. Goyer and Fleiss bring an entertaining story to the table with this one and it is a book I would recommend.

The authors have done a wonderful job with the setting and history of the time. This story brings a wonderful message about God's faithfulness. It also reminded me about my personal need to trust in Him. I am looking forward to reading more of Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss books!

Love Finds You In Lonesome Prarie Montana is such a great story. This is a book is about changes, loneliness, and those plans and vows that we think are from God, but are really just our own fear.
Jen at The Steeds
Another hit from Tricia Goyer! This was a wonderful book. One of the things that I like about her books is that they are never vulgar or smutty and I would be more than willing to let my teenage daughter (if I had one, that is), read her books. It’s seamlessly well-written and you’d never know that two women wrote it! The characters are real and never too full of themselves. There is also a nice balance of godly but not to obnoxious and over the top. I recommend this book with no hesitation!

I was pulled in from the start with this book. Not only did the back cover copy intrigue me with the concept of a woman traveling west on an orphan train, but the barren Montana setting and the rich cast of characters only added to the depth to be found within this novel. The pairing of Tricia with Ocieanna, who's edited several of Tricia's novels, is a true winning combination of writing skill and talent.
Christi at Journey in His Steps
I loved this book from first page to last and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Lauren at 5 Minutes for Books
I enjoyed this book, and I recommend it to all of you fans of historical fiction. I always appreciate the chance to learn from the historical context of a story while losing myself in the lives of the characters. The idea that God has a plan for our lives (even though his plan is often different from our plan) was a theme throughout the story, and I welcomed the poignant reminder.
Beth at The Writing Road
The authors do a good job at bringing Lonesome Prairie to life, weaving together the realities of orphan trians, mail-order brides, circuit preachers and the isolation of life on the prairie. Besides Julia's dilemma, there are interesting subplots that move the story along.
Jennifer at Jen's Book Talk
I was really pleased with the feel and atmosphere of Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie Montana. The writing was so smooth and flowing it was like I was really there out in the west with Julia. So many times I found myself laughing out loud over a few predicaments she got into. This was a fun light romance and I truly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anybody looking for a soft and fun loving western romance. I also adored how each page was stamped at the top with a little postage stamp!

I loved reading something different. It has been a while since I've read any historical fiction and even longer since I've picked up historical Christian fiction. I loved the characters and thought that the authors did a great job of setting the correct atmosphere for the book.
Vicki at Reading at the Beach
The characters are well written and the story is a fun, light read. I especially like that it is a Christian Historical Fiction with a message about putting your faith in God. I think this is a book that everyone, no matter their religious beliefs, will enjoy.
Nicole at Gidget Goes Home
It was a captivating western romance that had me almost feeling like I was watching a movie rather than reading a book. I thought it had great character development and loved that the story alternated between seeing the world from the heroine’s perspective to also the hero’s. It was also personally interesting for me as the context of the love story is based around the system which was an early form of American adoption, by way of the Orphan Train.
Urailak at Living for God
This book is entertaining and well-written. It is interesting to see things from both the young man’s point of view and the young woman’s. Women had to be strong on the prairie but they did not have to lose their feminine loveliness. I am glad that the authors did not try to portray the women as tomboys or feminists but as women who were strong in the Lord! I like that children (both biological and adopted) were shown as a blessing. All in all it was a sweet book...the kind that makes you contentedly sigh after reading the last page :).
Mindy at Ponderings of the Heart
I know that this book is a good read for me when I get to the end of the book and wish that I knew the 'rest of the story'! That is exactly what happened with Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana. I found that I didn't want to stop reading about Pastor Ike and Miss Julia Cavenaugh. I wanted to know the rest of the story of their lives. What's next for them? What's next for the people of Lonesome Prairie? That, for me, is a good read.
Elizabeth at Texas Joy
This book is definitely one of my favorites from the year. And I love reading a story that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a teenage daughter of a friend.

The book was such an easy read, which is always appreciated. The characters were believable and I really felt Julia’s pain and uncertainty when she was uprooted and had to wait it out in a foreign place among strangers.
Susan at His Morning Glory
The story includes several masterfully intertwined story lines that kept me turning the pages late into the night. As a team, Tricia and Ocieanna write with a single voice that is easy to lose yourself in. You can feel the grit of a weeks worth of dirt from train travel, see the bugs falling in from the ceiling of the soddy, and smell the fear as you face an injured buffalo. I look forward to more books from this awesome team!
Tracy at Seed Thoughts Blog
What a delightful read! There was simply nothing about this book that I didn’t enjoy, from the cast of characters, to the mix of drama and comedy, to the picturesque and perhaps a bit lonely setting. It speaks to the heart, especially to the very real longing for Home that we all have. There is an important message about trusting God, but it is never preachy. It flowed well, was very entertaining and a great way to spend my day. If you enjoy lighthearted inspirational fiction that will warm your heart, this is the book for you!
