A book lover from way back, Amy is forever tripping over one stack of books or another. She graduated from The Evergreen State College with a degree in creative writing (poetry) and editing. Upon graduation she raised a family, started a children’s clothing boutique and a successful catering business. But, Amy returned to her first love – books and editing – on a fateful snowy day in March, when a friend (and a published writer) asked if she would be interested in a little part time job as a writer’s assistant. Fast forward several years and Litfuse was born. Amy lives to fuse, to take authors, their platform, their work – and Spread the Word. Fusing the author with their audience by coming alongside and handling PR, booking speaking engagements, securing interviews with the media, networking on the author'sbehalf, etc... “I love to get behind an author and free them up to do what they do best – WRITE!”
Amy lives with her Uber-cool husband, Bryce (www.uberblok.com) and their two children, Dakota and Madison, in the suburbs of Seattle. As a family, the Lathrop’s serve their church by hosting a small group, cooking meals, serving communion, and supporting missionaries in prayer. The Lathrop’s spend as much time with family and friends as possible – camping, going to movies, eating, playing pinochle, and laughing.
Amy is honored to be of use. She lives grateful that God has prepared her every step of the way to do EXACTLY what she loves to do. “Truly a blessing to live in the knowledge that everything that happens in life (good/bad) is used by God to shape us into the people He intended for us to be.” Amy would love to learn more about you too. Stephanie Garvey spent every evening, as a child, listening to her mom read while snuggled with her brothers on the floor next to their parent's bed. They traveled across the Midwest with Little House on the Prairie (In fact, Stephanie's first story was entitled "Little House on Lewellyn"), laughed and cried throughout the life of Little Britches and explored wonders throughout The Chronicles of Narnia.
In junior high and high school, she led a secret editing life where she red-pen corrected letters from pen pals and her siblings home school writing assignments as practice. She came close to being grounded from books because of hiding from chore assignments behind the couch engrossed in a mystery novel one too many times.
After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael, and had a honeymoon baby followed by another soon after. The last 5 years have been a blur of exciting adventures, putting her husband through college, traveling to Europe twice, and moving across the country in efforts to expand her husband's family business.
She spends her days loving God, adoring her husband, chasing her little boys, taking pictures, writing on her blog, planning their move back to the NorthWest and reading books during nap time. If you ever want to catch a glimpse of her find her on twitter!
